Roman soldier presentations are important for sandal and staff.Schools learn about Roman soldiers and have wanted the Roman soldier show as part of their Roman soldier studies. Alan dresses up as a Roman soldier and asks 6 children to dress up as Roman soldiers. We march in as an army of Roman soldiers to Roman army music. The kids wear a Roman army breastplate, a Roman army shield, a Roman army helmet and a Roman army sword. The whole show is about the Roman soldiers in Britain, how much the Romans earned, what the Romans ate, how the Romans fought and how the Romans trained. Other props are the Roman coloured backdrop, the 2 Roman soldiers on each side, the Roman spear, the Roman cloak, the Roman cooking utensils and the Roman army standard. Sometimes the school have a Roman day for Alan`s visit which includes Roman clothes and Roman food. Alan quotes from Roman books, hides kids under a Roman cloak, has a Roman quiz and swears kids into the Roman army. The Roman presentation takes about 90 mins and the kids learn many facts about the Roman army.
Alan is Peter Pilgrim. A pilgrim is a traveller, who meets other pilgrims on his journey. A pilgrim has a nomadic spirit and is a discoverer. A pilgrim travels with a purpose and goes to special pilgrim places where other pilgrims have been before. Pilgrim festivals happen all over the world and pilgrims travel by land, sea or air to go to pilgrim sites. One pilgrim site is Jerusalem, where pilgrims from all over the world gather. The pilgrims pray, some pilgrims go to special meetings and other pilgrims visit special pilgrim sites. Alan is taking some Pilgrims to Israel in September, to see the pilgrim sites and experience other pilgrims. He has been to the pilgrim site of Lindisfarne, the pilgrim sites in Devon, the pilgrim sites in Wales. Pilgrim travel is exciting and he wants to encourage others to be pilgrims in lifestyle.
